NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – CITY OF WALCOTT
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
RELATING TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Walcott, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Walcott City Hall, 128 W. Lincoln Street, Walcott, Iowa, to receive public comment and consider proposed amendment to the City’s Comprehensive Plan relating to the Future Land Use Map.
The proposed amendment would revise the Future Land Use Map designations for certain areas near the Interstate 80 interchange area within the City’s planning area, including changing certain areas currently designated as Commercial to Industrial.
A copy of the proposed Future Land Use Map amendment is available for public review at Walcott City Hall during regular business hours or online at www.cityofwalcott.com. Interested individuals may make comments on the proposed Future Land Use Map amendment during the public hearing or submit written comments to Walcott City Hall or by email to info@cityofwalcott.com.com by 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2026.
