A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Walcott, Iowa, was held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Walcott City Hall. Mayor Jacob Puck called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Council members present were: Bobbie Martinez, Lisa Mengler, and Joe Quick. Absent: Everett Bieri and Kirk Koberg. Lisa Rickertsen, City Clerk, was also present.
Mengler moved and Martinez seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Discussion and Potential Vote on New Class C Retail Alcohol and Outdoor Service Area License for the Lamp Liter, Inc. Rickertsen reported that the previous license for the Lamp Liter, Inc. expired on May 16, 2026, and the establishment has not been authorized to serve alcohol since that date. She also reported that notifications were provided to the business owner by both the City and the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division in advance of the expiration date. Clint Kutcher, business owner, arrived at 5:03 p.m. Mengler moved and Quick seconded to approve the new Class C Retail Alcohol and Outdoor Service Area License for the Lamp Liter, Inc. Motion carried. Rickertsen reiterated to Kutcher that he may not serve alcohol until the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division approves and issues a new alcohol license.
Martinez and Mengler seconded to adjourn at 5:04 p.m. Motion carried. All votes on motions were unanimous, unless noted.
